French Ultimate

Draft for review

This is a plain-English draft written to match how French Ultimate works today. It hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer yet, and the operator's legal name and address still need to be added. It may change before it's final.

Terms of use

Draft, October 2026

These terms cover your use of French Ultimate, the online French course at this site. By creating an account or using the course, you agree to them. Our privacy page explains how we handle your data.

Your account

Price

The Free plan costs nothing. Premium and Premium Plus are subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown on the plans page when you subscribe; the founding membership is a one-time payment for Premium for the life of the service. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your full card number.

Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page; your plan then stays on until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. If we change a price, we'll tell you before it applies to you, and you can cancel before it does.

If you live in the EU or the UK, you have a right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. Because Premium opens straight away, you're asked when you buy to agree that it starts immediately; if you then withdraw within 14 days, we refund you minus the share of the period you've already used. Write to us to withdraw or to ask for a refund.

Using the course

You're welcome to use French Ultimate to learn French. Please don't:

We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

Your content

Texts you write and recordings you save stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the course to you, for example to send a text to our AI provider for correction, or to keep a recording so you can play it back.

Our content

The course, including its lessons, videos, characters, books, stories, exams and design, belongs to French Ultimate. You can use it for your own learning.

The writing coach

Writing corrections are generated automatically by an AI model. They're usually helpful but can be wrong or incomplete, so treat them as guidance, not as a teacher's final word. The number of corrections per day is limited.

Exams and certificates

The mock exams follow the format of the DELF and DALF, but they aren't the official exams, and French Ultimate isn't connected to the organisations that run them. Course certificates record what you've completed in French Ultimate; they aren't official qualifications.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the course running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may add, change or remove features. If we plan to close the service, we'll announce it on the site well in advance.

Liability

The course is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses arising from using it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and its date, and point out important changes on the site before they apply.
